Project Overview
The engagement began in 2018 with a focused mandate to conceptualise and deliver a gala dinner for KFC in the UAE. What started as a single-evening requirement evolved into a broader, multi-format programme delivered across 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023.
The brief was straightforward yet open-ended: create a well-executed gala while establishing a distinct thematic identity for the evening. Over time, the scope expanded from standalone production to full-scale planning and execution, including multi-day MICE programmes, guest logistics, excursions, and large-format gala experiences. Each edition was commissioned independently, with a new venue, theme, spatial design, and production approach, while maintaining consistency in quality and delivery.
Client Requirements
The initial brief in 2018 was centred on delivering a complete gala dinner experience, with equal emphasis on production quality and thematic
identity. The requirements included:
- Gala dinner production
- Stage design and AV setup
- Event branding across key touchpoints (flags, backdrops, etc.)
- Development of a unique and ownable event theme
Following the success of the first edition, the scope expanded significantly from 2019 onwards to include:
- Hotel selection and coordination
- Guest logistics, including arrival and departure management
- Full itinerary planning
- End-to-end execution across multiple days
The expectation evolved beyond delivery. Each edition required a distinct experience, a fresh creative direction, and seamless integration across
planning, production, and guest engagement.

Pangea Event’s Solution
A key milestone within the programme was the development of a distinct event identity. In the first year, Pangea introduced the concept CHAMPS CHALLENGE, a theme that extended beyond a one-time execution and became a recognisable framework across subsequent editions. It was not only a visual direction but a structure that informed how the event was experienced. This phase also marked an expansion in scope, from production delivery to experience design. Alongside the concept, a dedicated event logo was developed, establishing a cohesive identity across branding, stage, and communication elements.
Program Structure & Execution
Following the success of the first edition, the engagement expanded into a full-scale, three-day format incorporating MICE elements, guest logistics, and multi-environment production.
A structured programme was developed:
Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome Dinner :
A seamless transition from arrival to engagement, with controlled environments, themed décor, entertainment programming, and integrated AV and branding.
Day 2 – Competition & Experiences :
Designed around participation and team dynamics, including transportation logistics, curated excursions, and evening dining experiences
Day 3 – Awards Gala Night :
The central moment of the programme, delivered as a full-scale production. This included concept-to-execution gala design, a Carnival-themed environment, immersive décor, performance integration, and complete AV and show design.
Alongside execution, Pangea developed the event logo, marking a key milestone in extending capabilities into brand identity creation for large-
scale corporate programmes.
Each edition required weeks of planning, design development, and cross functional coordination across creative, production, and logistics teams. The first year, in particular, demanded extended effort to establish a foundational concept that could sustain across future editions.
Across 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023, each engagement was approached as a new brief, requiring the experience to be reimagined while maintaining consistency in quality, structure, and delivery.
Pangea also managed venue selection and on-ground operations, from detailed prop styling to large-scale stage production. This extended across guest logistics, excursions, team engagement activities, and hotel coordination, including check-ins, room allocation, and arrival experiences. The programme was designed to ensure that every participant, including international guests, experienced a cohesive and meaningful journey throughout their time in the UAE.
